POKOTABI / WHAT CAFE
WHAT CAFE
Set within an airy gallery space in Tennoz Isle, WHAT CAFE pairs rotating contemporary artwork with weekly plates, soft-boiled egg keema curry, Canal Blend coffee, and ice cream floats, complete with canal-side terrace seating.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Set along the canal in Tennoz Isle, WHAT CAFE occupies an expansive converted warehouse filled with diverse works of contemporary art. Diners can enjoy a relaxed meal or a cup of tea surrounded by walls hung with exhibitions, making it an easy and appealing stop while exploring the neighborhood.
For a full meal, the kitchen prepares rotating weekly and monthly plates alongside staples like keema curry crowned with a soft-boiled egg. The plate specials occasionally take the form of balanced Japanese teishoku sets featuring grilled salmon or other main dishes, offering a wholesome, unpretentious meal amidst the surrounding gallery displays.
For an afternoon break, options range from the house Canal Blend coffee and cappuccinos to refreshing coffee floats featuring a scoop of vanilla ice cream over iced brew. Alongside the bittersweet float, the cafe serves soft-serve ice cream and Canny's ART DONUTs with rotating seasonal flavors, rounding out a thoughtful selection of sweets.
Beyond the high-ceilinged interior, the cafe offers outdoor terrace seating right along the water. On clear days, guests can sip bottled beer in the gentle breeze or unwind outdoors with their pets, taking in the open waterfront at their own pace.
